API Seeks To Halt Tenn. Renewable Fuel Law

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 12:07 PM ET) -- The American Petroleum Institute is attempting to block a new Tennessee law requiring refiners and producers to sell only unblended gasoline to wholesalers, saying the statute should be preempted by federal renewable fuel and marketing laws.

The oil industry group filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee against state Agriculture Commissioner Ken Givens, seeking to stop the implementation of the Tennessee Renewable Fuels Blending Act.
