China Loses Appeal Of WTO US Media Import Ruling

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 6:04 PM EST) -- The World Trade Organization's Appellate Body has affirmed a WTO dispute resolution panel's ruling ordering China to relax its import restrictions on films, books and other copyright-intensive media products coming from the U.S.

The Appellate Body found Monday that the panel hadn't erred in finding that certain barriers imposed by China to U.S. media violated the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
