Court Backs RJR Win In Star Patent Trial

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 8:49 AM EST) -- A federal judge on Monday endorsed a jury’s finding that R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. did not infringe two Star Scientific Inc. patents covering a toxin-reducing method of curing tobacco, a verdict that puts Star on the hook for as much as $35 million of its rival’s attorneys' fees.
