Clearwire Hit With WiMax Patent Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 6:21 PM ET) -- Wireless Internet company Adaptix Inc. is suing Clearwire Corp. for allegedly violating one of its patents with Clearwire's WiMax high-speed Internet services.

In a complaint filed on Monday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Adaptix accused Clearwire of violating its patent on multicarrier communications with group-based subcarrier allocation.

The suit names both Clearwire Corp. and Clearwire Legacy LLC. Clearwire Legacy was formed last year in connection with Clearwire's merger with Sprint Nextel Corp.
