Obama Extends FMLA Benefits To Flight Crews

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 12:22 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama has signed off on a bill that will allow airline flight attendants and pilots to qualify for the first time for the same benefits under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 as other full-time employees.

The Airline Flight Crew Technical Corrections Act, sponsored in the U.S. Senate by Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., was officially signed into law Monday after passing both chambers of Congress earlier in 2009.
