EPA Reaches $30M Deal For Mass. Superfund Site

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 7:00 PM EST) -- BASF Corp., DuPont Co., Sears Roebuck & Co. and more than a dozen other companies will pay over $30 million to ensure cleanup of the Sutton Brook Disposal Area Superfund Site and settle related claims, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Tuesday.

The EPA filed a 126-page consent decree Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, resolving federal and state claims against 49 parties potentially responsible for pollution at the Tewksbury, Mass., site.
