EEOC Strikes At Sidley's Discovery Bid In Age Suit

Law360, New York (November 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sidley Austin is facing new challenges from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the agency’s much watched age discrimination lawsuit again the law firm, with the EEOC seeking to block the firm’s bids for certain employee data.

Filed in January 2005, the lawsuit was triggered when 30 partners were ejected from the firm or downgraded from partner status in 1999 because of an allegedly mandatory age-based retirement policy. Sidley Austin vehemently denies such a policy exists.
