MetLife Faces Suit Over TQP Encryption Patent

Law360, New York (January 04, 2010, 4:26 PM ET) -- Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. has become the latest company to be targeted by TQP Development LLC, which accuses the insurer of infringing a patent for encrypted data transmission.

The suit, filed Dec. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas by the Texas-based company, follows similar actions it has brought against dozens of large financial services firms and online vendors.
