ITC Examines Richtek Circuit Patent Claims V. UPI

Law360, New York (January 4, 2010, 12:37 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into whether uPI Semiconductor Corp. stole trade secrets from Taiwan-based Richtek Technology Corp. and used them to make electrical circuit components that infringe three patents.

The ITC said on Dec. 30 that it voted to review the matter after Richtek and a U.S. subsidiary lodged a Section 337 complaint alleging that uPI, which is also based in Taiwan, lured several of Richtek’s key employees in order to illegally obtain trade secret information to sidestep the lengthy process...
