No Indemnity Duty In Propane Blast Case: Texas Court

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 6:19 PM EST) -- A Texas appeals court has affirmed a ruling that Manchester Tank & Equipment Co.'s and Engineered Controls International Inc.'s obligations to each other were offset after they paid millions to settle a liability suit triggered by a deadly propane explosion.

The Dec. 30 opinion, issued by the Texas Tenth Court of Appeals, affirmed a Freestone County trial court's May 2008 ruling following a bench trial in the indemnification fight between the tank maker and valve maker.
