Hasbro Sues Ghettopoly Maker

Law360, New York (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Toymaker Hasbro, the maker of the Monopoly boardgame, filed suit in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island against David Chang of Saint Mary's, PA, who makes and markets the controversial "Ghettopoly" game.

The complaint alleges Chang violated Hasbro's trademark rights and copyrights to the Monopoly brand in his "Ghettopoly" game, which has been widely condemned by civil rights groups for its use of offensive stereotypes.
