Japan Draws US Fire For Clunker Trade-In Policy

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 2:33 PM EST) -- The authors of Congress' $3 billion Cash for Clunkers program are calling on American trade officials to pressure Japan into abandoning a “discriminatory” provision in its own domestic clunker rebate program that effectively excludes most U.S.-made vehicles from subsidy eligibility.
