Fortinet Sues Trend Micro Again Over Antivirus Patents

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 7:08 PM EST) -- Computer network security company Fortinet Inc. has launched another suit against Trend Micro Inc., claiming for a second time that it is not obligated to pay royalties on certain antivirus programs because the patents are invalid.

The complaint, initiated Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, is substantially the same as another case filed in the same court, according to a motion by the plaintiff to consider whether the two cases should be related, also filed Wednesday.
