Class Cert. Sought In BNY Mellon Security Breach Suit

Law360, New York (January 8, 2010, 4:49 PM EST) -- The lead plaintiffs in a putative class action against The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. have moved for class certification in a suit accusing the bank of exposing 12.5 million people to identity fraud when a tape containing their private information went missing.

The lead plaintiffs filed the motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking certification for all U.S. consumers whose information was on the tapes involved in the security breaches at issue.
