Court OKs Bridgestone, BMW Tire Class Settlement

Law360, New York (January 08, 2010, 2:27 PM ET) -- A federal judge has given preliminary approval to a reimbursement settlement among BMW of North America LLC, Bridgestone Corp. and a class of BMW owners who sued the companies for breach of contract alleging that special “run-flat” Bridgestone tires designed to temporarily outmaneuver deflation did not perform up to speed.

Judge Katharine S. Hayden of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Thursday gave her blessing to a settlement agreement submitted in November. A final approval hearing is scheduled for April 12....
