Judge Approves $176M Nightclub Fire Settlement Fund

Law360, New York (January 08, 2010, 3:31 PM ET) -- Survivors and family members of those who died in the 2003 Rhode Island nightclub fire are closer to getting their portions of $176 million in settlements, now that a judge has approved the establishment of a settlement fund.

In orders Thursday, Judge Ronald R. Lagueux of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island also appointed trustees for the settlement fund and signed off on how the fund will be handled.
