Apotex Seeks Stay In Plavix Suit Pending USPTO Ruling

Law360, New York (January 11, 2010, 2:41 PM ET) -- Apotex Inc. is asking a federal court to stay its long-running patent suit with Sanofi-Aventis SA over the blood-thinning drug Plavix while the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office re-examines Sanofi's patent for the drug.

The generic drugmaker filed the motion for stay Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and offered to post a $442.2 million bond for damages should the result come out in Sanofi's favor.
