Meade Sued For Unfair Competition In "Hubble" Row

Law360, New York (November 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Meade Instruments Corp. has been hit with a trademark lawsuit by a top rival that alleges the publicly traded telescope maker schemed to steal sales by confusing scientists and amateur astronomers about the complexity of its technology.

The suit accuses Meade and 14 of its distributors of unfair competition, racketeering and “victimizing the scientific community” by associating its new telescopes with the famous technology used by NASA and major observatories.
