Biz Group Says Export Control Regs Hurt US Tech Cos.

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 6:22 PM EST) -- A consortium of industry groups is recommending that the federal government revise and reduce the technologies subject to export control regulations, saying current controls are outdated and fail to account for changes globalization brought to world commerce.

The Coalition of Security and Competitiveness, which was formed several years ago to push for export control reform, released its set of specific recommendations earlier this week in a letter to President Barack Obama, who ordered a broad review of export control regulations in August.
