USTR Calls For Comments On Overseas IP Protection

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 4:39 PM EST) -- The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is seeking input from the public as it prepares its annual “Special 301” report on the effectiveness of intellectual property enforcement in other countries.

In a notice published Wednesday in the Federal Register, the USTR said the report will be published in April. The Special 301 provisions of the Trade Act require the USTR to identify countries that deny adequate protection of intellectual property rights.
