Home Depot Cleared In Product Tracker IP Suit

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 3:18 PM EST) -- Home Depot Inc. has been dismissed from a copyright infringement suit accusing it of misappropriating a taxonomy system designed to help it classify and organize its extensive catalog of products.

Judge J.P. Stadtmueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin on Tuesday dismissed plaintiff Edgenet Inc.'s federal copyright infringement claims against Home Depot with prejudice. He also dismissed, without prejudice, several state claims against the retail giant.
