BASF and DuPont Reach Deal Over GM Corn Patents

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 5:29 PM EST) -- DuPont Co. and rival chemical giant BASF Plant Science GmbH have put an end to their dueling patent infringement lawsuits over technology related to herbicide-resistant genetically modified corn.

The chemical conglomerates announced the settlement Wednesday, resolving two patent lawsuits that had been unfolding in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

A representative from DuPont said the settlement is confidential but revealed that it does include a cross-licensing agreement.
