FTC Seeks More Info On Coffee Cos.' $290M Merger

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 3:06 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission has asked Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. and Diedrich Coffee Inc. for more information on plans for a Green Mountain subsidiary to buy the rival coffee distributor in a $290 million cash tender offer.

The two companies said Wednesday that they had received second requests from the antitrust regulator seeking further details into the bid by Green Mountain unit Pebbles Acquisition Sub Inc. to buy Diedrich's outstanding shares of common stock for $35 a piece.
