Google, Verizon Weigh In On Net Neutrality Debate

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 5:14 PM EST) -- Google Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. have asked the Federal Communications Commission to keep the values of independence and minimal government foremost in mind as it designs federal rules on net neutrality to keep Internet service providers from blocking content they find undesirable.

The companies submitted joint comments just under the wire of the FCC's midnight deadline Thursday, asserting that self-governance has been the hallmark of the growth and success of the Internet.
