Judge Blocks University Of SC's Trademark Plans

Law360, New York (January 20, 2010, 4:18 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has ruled that the University of South Carolina cannot register its own version of an “SC” trademark for baseball merchandise because it would infringe the trademark of the University of Southern California, upholding a finding by a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office appellate body.
