Texas Chemist's IP Suit V. Penn State Tossed Again

Law360, New York (January 25, 2010, 12:49 PM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed a Texas chemist's patent suit alleging that Pennsylvania State University stole his process for converting methane gas into liquid, echoing a 2008 decision to toss a nearly identical suit for lack of personal jurisdiction.

Judge K. Michael Moore of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Wednesday granted Penn State's bid to dismiss Alan K. Richards' suit seeking to invalidate the university's patent for methane gas conversion.
