ITC Backs Samsung In Deposition Bid Against Murata

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 3:41 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission's staff is supporting Samsung Electro Mechanics Co. Ltd.'s bid as part of an ongoing patent infringement investigation to depose Japan-based Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. employees outside their home country.

In a response issued Friday, the ITC staff threw its weight behind Samsung's Jan. 12 bid to question the inventors of the patents-at-issue and other unnamed Murata employees in the U.S. or possibly South Korea, a request Murata has opposed.
