OECD Ministers Greenlight Major IP Research Project

Law360, New York (May 14, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Ministerial Council of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has approved a proposal by Japan to establish a large research group to study impact of intellectual property on sustainable growth.

The joint proposal will now be referred to the OECD Council for further consideration, the organization said.

The project is aimed at studying how to make better use of intellectual property in industrialized nations to raise labor productivity and enable sustainable economic development.
