Vivendi Dropped From Payment Method Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 12:49 PM ET) -- Vivendi Universal SA has become the latest to exit Actus LLC's patent enforcement litigation over electronic methods for processing payments.

Judge T. John Ward in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday signed off on a stipulation to dismiss all claims and counterclaims between the parties with prejudice, in connection with a Jan. 8 settlement agreement. No further details of the settlement were available.

Representatives for Vivendi did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment Wednesday, nor did counsel for Actus....
