Argentine Media Law Hurts US Exports: HBO

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 2:19 PM EST) -- HBO Latin America Group has filed a brief with the U.S. International Trade Commission urging American officials to take action against a new Argentine law that the company claims arbitrarily discriminates against foreign television programmers.

In a prehearing brief filed Thursday, the company said Argentina's Audiovisual Communications Services Law, passed Oct. 10, will hurt exports by the U.S. entertainment industry and violates international agreements.
