BTG Sheds 3 Patents From Samsung Chip Probe

Law360, New York (February 03, 2010, 4:38 PM ET) -- Looking to streamline the U.S. International Trade Commission’s investigation of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s flash memory chips, BTG International Inc. has withdrawn three of five patents initially asserted against Samsung and companies whose products use Samsung chips.

Administrative Law Judge Theodore R. Essex on Tuesday issued an order that the Section 337 investigation will no longer involve three patents BTG sought to remove from the proceeding because they will expire before the ITC issues its final determination.
