FDA Seeks Info On Candylike Smokeless Tobacco

Law360, New York (February 3, 2010, 5:57 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration wants R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Star Scientific Inc. to turn over information about how their flavored, dissolvable tobacco products may appeal to children.

The tobacco watchdog sent each company a letter Monday asking for research and other information about how people age 25 and younger perceive and use the “smokeless” tobacco, and the consequences of taking too much.
