AT&T Wins Dismissal, Arbitration In Contract Suit

Law360, New York (February 04, 2010, 12:44 PM ET) -- A group of cell phone companies, including subsidiaries of AT&T Inc., hastily disposed of a putative breach of contract class action, winning dismissal of claims from one lead plaintiff and sending two others to arbitration.

Chief Judge John Preston Bailey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, issued one order Tuesday granting the defendants' motions to dismiss and compel arbitration, and a second granting a motion by AT&T's parent holding company to dismiss it for lack of personal jurisdiction.
