Physicians Group, FTC Settle Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 4:40 PM EST) -- A Colorado physicians group has agreed to terminate any contracts with insurers that were reached using price-fixing tactics as part of a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC said Wednesday that the Roaring Fork Valley Physicians IPA Inc., which represents about 80 percent of the doctors in Garfield County, Colo., has also agreed to notify the commission before acting as an agent communicating contract offers and counteroffers between doctors and insurers.
