Court Dismisses Spitzer’s Suit Against H&R Block

Law360, New York (December 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A New York Supreme Court judge has tossed New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer’s much-publicized case against tax preparation company H&R Block Inc., ruling that since the company does not have a presence in the state, Spitzer does not have jurisdiction.

Spitzer filed the case in March, accusing the company of fraudulent business practices related to its sales of IRA accounts.
