2 New Suits Go After Toyota Throttle System

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 1:52 PM EST) -- Two consumers have hit Toyota Motor Corp. with suits alleging an electronic throttle system caused their vehicles to dangerously accelerate.

Suits against Toyota have piled up over the last week, following the company's Jan. 21 announcement that it is recalling more than 2.3 million cars in the U.S. because of unintended acceleration. The company has thus far ruled out electronic problems as a cause of the defect.
