International Finance Corp., the U.S. Supreme Court held that under the International Organizations Immunities Act, or IOIA, international organizations sued in U.S. courts are subject to the same restrictive immunity regime as foreign states or their instrumentalities set forth in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, but explicitly left the door open to international organizations providing for greater immunity exceptions under their charters or other constituent documents.[1]...
