Japan Airlines Rebuffs Offer Of Delta Partnership

Law360, New York (February 08, 2010, 6:05 PM ET) -- Bankrupt Japan Airlines Corp. has reportedly opted to continue its partnership with American Airlines Inc. and the Oneworld alliance, despite overtures from competitors Delta Air Lines Inc. and SkyTeam.

Following months of talks with both U.S. carriers, Japan Airlines has determined that leaving the Oneworld alliance would be too risky and could undermine its efforts to restructure billions of dollars in debt under the cover of bankruptcy protection, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported Sunday.
