WildEarth Demands Endangered Parrot Recovery Plan

Law360, New York (February 9, 2010, 3:30 PM EST) -- The conservation group WildEarth Guardians has sued the U.S. government in an effort to force federal officials to develop a recovery plan for the only surviving parrot species native to the U.S.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, claims that though the thick-billed parrot has been on the endangered species list for 36 years, it has never been the subject of any recovery plan — one of the next steps required after listing under the Endangered Species Act....
