Toyota Chief Takes Responsibility At House Hearing

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 7:57 PM EST) -- The president of Toyota Motor Corp. on Wednesday took "full responsibility" for the company's recent safety troubles, as members of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform interrogated leadership from both the Japanese automaker and the federal transportation watchdog for six hours.

President Akio Toyoda expressed concern at the hearing that the company may have grown too quickly in recent years, leading it to lose sight of the importance of safety and customer feedback.
