DOL Boosts Restrictions On Foreign Farm Workers

Law360, New York (February 11, 2010, 6:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has announced a new rule regarding visas for temporary agricultural workers, imposing tougher restrictions on employer requests to hire foreign workers and seeking to ensure higher wages for farm labor.

On Thursday, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis unveiled the final rule for the H-2A visa program, which is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on Friday and to go into effect March 15.
