Honda Recall Signals New Era Post-Toyota Disaster

Law360, New York (February 12, 2010, 5:55 PM ET) -- Honda Motor Co.'s expanded recall of vehicles with defective air bags in the wake of Toyota Motor Corp.'s debacle over acceleration-prone cars portends a wave of litigation, regulation and new recalls amid public scrutiny of automobile makers, legal experts say.

According to James A. Bruen, a product liability defense lawyer, the Toyota and Honda recalls will focus the plaintiffs bar on automobile defects.
