EU To Approve Microsoft, Yahoo Search Ad Deal

Law360, New York (February 12, 2010, 5:55 PM EST) -- The European Commission is reportedly expected to approve Microsoft Corp.'s search advertisement partnership with Yahoo Inc., providing a potential rival to Google Inc.'s search engine advertising dominance in the U.S. and European Union alike.

The EU antitrust regulator had set a Feb.19 deadline to either approve or prevent the deal, and the pact should be cleared without any concessions, according to a Reuters report citing sources familiar with the situation.
