DynCorp Cleared Of $10M Damages In Bias Suit

Law360, New York (February 12, 2010, 4:57 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has vacated a $10 million punitive damages award against defense contractor DynCorp International LLC in subcontractor Worldwide Network Services LLC's racial discrimination and breach of contract suit.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit tossed out the award Friday, finding that neither WWNS, a telecommunications company, nor the district court cited any evidence that DynCorp terminated the subcontract at issue “in the face of a perceived risk that [its] decision would violate federal law.”
