Google Books Deal Set For Heated Fairness Hearing

Law360, New York (February 16, 2010, 7:19 PM ET) -- The federal courthouse in Manhattan is slated to be the scene of a showdown Thursday over a proposed settlement that would allow Google Inc. to create a massive digital library — a deal that has raised significant antitrust and intellectual property concerns.

A fairness hearing on the proposed settlement is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Thursday, and preparations have already been made at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for an overflow crowd.
