Apple Targets Software Claims In IPhone Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (February 16, 2010, 3:45 PM ET) -- Accused of monopolizing the aftermarket for iPhone applications and services, Apple Inc. has targeted tandem allegations that a software update ruined consumer-modified iPhones, contending that the plaintiffs are pursuing claims already discredited in the course of discovery.

On Friday, Apple urged Judge James Ware of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to dismiss four of the 10 counts in the putative class action, which center on allegations Apple intentionally disabled iPhones that consumers had hacked and outfitted with competing software applications....
