Ex-Macy's Worker Seeks Class Status In Wage Case

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 5:00 PM EST) -- A former Macy's Inc. employee is seeking to certify a class of up to 40,000 terminated workers in a suit alleging the retail giant failed to immediately pay all final wages at the time the workers were fired, in violation of California labor laws.

Plaintiff Carlos A. Quevedo filed a motion Tuesday asking the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to certify three subclasses in a suit that estimates Macy's could owe its California-based ex-employees as much as $24 million.
