Nike, Apple Hit With Patent Suit Over IPod Sports Gear

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 1:15 PM EST) -- Affinity Labs of Texas LLC has launched a suit against Apple Inc. and Nike Inc., claiming that a line of the retailer's sports gear incorporating Apple's iPod media players infringes three patents for athletic performance monitoring technology.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Affinity targets the Nike+ line of shoes, sport kits, sensors and armbands, which are designed to be used with Apple's iPod nano, iPod touch and iPhone products.
