Bereskin & Parr Loses Bid To Toss Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 4:23 PM ET) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss security system company Touchcom Inc.’s malpractice suit against Canadian intellectual property firm Bereskin & Parr LLP, rejecting the law firm's argument that the suit is barred by the statute of limitations.

Judge James Cacheris of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday disputed the idea that the case should be dismissed because the firm's representation of Touchcom was limited to a patent filing in the early 1990s, far exceeding a three-year statute of limitations...
