Wal-Mart Sex Discrimination Case Heads To Trial

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 3:32 PM EST) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss a long-running case by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission accusing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of discriminating against female job candidates at one of its Kentucky distribution centers.

In a series of orders filed Friday and Tuesday, Judge Karen K. Caldwell of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky denied the retailer's bid for summary judgment and excluded experts for both Wal-Mart and the commission. A trial is scheduled for March 1.
